There&#8217;s an old outpost there and not really a whole lot else. We came across this salamander there as well.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_499\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-499\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mrfs.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/salamander.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-499\" alt=\"Salamander\" src=\"http:\/\/mrfs.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/salamander.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mrfs.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/salamander.jpg 500w, https:\/\/mrfs.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/salamander-300x143.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-499\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Salamander<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Eastatoe Falls isn&#8217;t really related, it&#8217;s about 15 miles east on the Foothills Parkway but we visited them on the same day. This waterfall has a bunch of names, Twin Falls on some maps, Shady Cove Falls on others. It&#8217;s not even clear to us who owns this land and maintains the trail there. Either way it&#8217;s a short walk from the parking area off of water falls road in Eastatoe Community. There are many warnings about the dangerous rocks here but the river a bit downstream of the falls looked to have some nice swimming holes accessible from the trail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oconee Station is a state historic site in northwest South Carolina.
