After a lot of bad weather this winter we are finally out hiking again.    This is a short hike we did on our way to Charlotte.    Tom&#8217;s Creek Falls is just off of 221 about five miles north of Marion, North Carolina. <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_473\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-473\" style=\"width: 339px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mrfs.net\/blog\/?attachment_id=473\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-473\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mrfs.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_5944.jpg\" alt=\"Trail along Tom&#039;s Creek\" width=\"339\" height=\"455\" class=\"size-full wp-image-473\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mrfs.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_5944.jpg 339w, https:\/\/mrfs.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_5944-223x300.jpg 223w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 339px) 100vw, 339px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-473\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Trail along Tom&#8217;s Creek<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This is only about a half mile hike along an easy path from the trail head to the falls.  There are several nice access points to the creek along the way and a lot of mica scattered all over the place.  There is an old mica mine just downstream from the falls (on the opposite of the river from the trail).
